Atticus Review is happy to announce our first annual Creative Nonfiction Contest judged by Sarah Gerard. You may submit one piece of Flash CNF of up to 1000 words for consideration. The submission fee is $10. You may include your name on the cover page, but please do not put your name or identifying information on the pages containing the piece itself. Also, please no submissions from colleagues, former students, or close acquaintances of the Contest Judge.

About the Judge: Sarah Gerard is the author of the essay collection Sunshine State, a New York Times critics’ choice, and the novel Binary Star, a finalist for the Los Angeles Times first fiction prize. Her short stories, essays, interviews, and criticism have appeared in The New York Times, Granta, The Baffler, Vice, BOMB Magazine, and other journals, as well as anthologies. Recycle, a co-authored book of collages and text, was published by Pacific in 2018. She’s been supported by fellowships and residencies from Yaddo, Tin House, PlatteForum, and Ucross. She writes a column for Hazlitt and lives in St. Petersburg, Florida.
