After earning an MFA in Creative Writing from The University of Texas at El Paso, Minerva Laveaga Luna spent eight years conducting writing workshops for survivors of domestic violence and migrant farmworkers. Her stories and essays appear in Southwest American Literature, Rio Grande Review, and Writing Texas, among others. Her work is anthologized in Cuando narradoras latinoamericanas narran en Estados Unidos (2009, Editorial Fundación Ross, Argentina), and Borderlines (2015, Voices Breaking Boundaries, Houston, TX). She is an Associate English professor at El Paso Community College, a contributor to Book Riot, and a co-founder of Veliz Books.
