Susanna Speier has published poetry in Le Petite Zine and performed poetry and prose at Cornelia Street Café and Artisphere. In 2009 she created and curated Politiku, a political haiku column for The Huffington Post. The column ran over two years and was syndicated worldwide. Her plays have been produced at HERE Arts Center, The Cocteau, The World Financial Center, The Tenri and Galapagos Arts Space. In a review of Calabi-Yau, her adaptation of “The Elegant Universe” by Brian Greene, the New York Times lauded her “excellent ear” for layman friendly science explanations. As a journalist she has written for The Denver Post, Westword, Colorado Public Radio, Scientific American Blogs and Nature.com and The Daily Beast. She earned her BA from Hampshire College and earned her MFA in Playwriting from Brooklyn College, C.U.N.Y.
