to object
Fiction by Tyler Barton.
Read MoreTyler Barton's debut story collection, a finalist for the 2020 Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction, is forthcoming from Sarabande Books. He is a cofounder of Fear No Lit, home of the Submerging Writer Fellowship. His work has appeared in Kenyon Review, The Iowa Review, NANO Fiction and elsewhere. 'to object' is part of a 70-piece microfiction manuscript called TO WORK, which explores the absurdity and dread of modern work and modern art. It is inspired by Richard Serra's 1968 work, 'Verblist'. Pieces from this project will appear soon in Wigleaf, McNeese Review, and Monkeybicycle.
