The spaces we inhabit constantly collect and collage aural compositions without our consent. The world is perfectly capable of telling its own stories without us around. When we eavesdrop and compose/select, the mind’s ear turns the world’s living composition into the looking-glass through which we might see something else.

“Emergency in an Empty Room” invites the listener to juxtapose presence against absence in an act of imaginative projection. What has emptied this room: sleep, accident, murder, apocalypse, coincidence? The soundscape builds a narrative to which the listener provides the answer.
