ARTISTS’ STATEMENT: Adrian Garcia Gomez and C.O. Moed’s collaboration originated from C.O. writing to her partner about what was what. Using C.O.’s images and ideas as a launching point, Adrian brought his interdisciplinary craft in film/video, photography and illustration to the text, creating a visual landscape from archive materials, animation and original materials. An editing process across two different continents has resulted in a piece that stands witness to their respective relationships and their understanding of what happens when the rubber meets the road.

C.O. Moed chronicled the heart and soul of a disappearing family and a city in the throws of extinction and evolution in her project, IT WAS HER NEW YORK (myprivateconey.blogspot.com). A recipient of the Elizabeth George Grant for fiction and a Rockefeller Media Arts nominee, her short stories and dramatic works have been published in several anthologies and literary reviews. She lives and works in New York City. (myprivateconey.blogspot.com) Adrian Garcia Gomez is an interdisciplinary artist working in film/video, photography and illustration. His artwork, which is largely autobiographical and often performative, explores the intersections of race, immigration, gender, spirituality and sexuality. His short experimental films, photographs and drawings have exhibited around the world. He lives and works in London.

“Fucking Him,” is a brilliant video and spoken word piece. Nothing in the title, or what you see or hear, sets you up for the hauntingly beautiful visual ending and the last line. Would love to see more from CC Moed and Gomez. Thanks for posting.
