HEXAPOD was conceived as a response to climate change and its associated ecological damage. Insects (hexapods…) are the most diverse organisms on earth, and at least some of them will survive whatever we do to the environment. All the video footage was taken around my home and nearby public land in Belair, South Australia. The opening sequence shows ants carrying larvae and pupa from one nest to another.  The animations were generated in the Isadora video processing environment and track the movements of groups of ants around their nests. The soundtrack is in 6:4 time.
